Judith Ingham Chair of Trustees is a Consultant and former Partner at Withers Worldwide, who speaks French, German and Italian. Judith specialised in tax, trust and estate planning work for individuals and trustees and like the founder of Ockenden International, Joyce Pearce, Judith is an alumna of Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford.
Vin Ray Media Consultant, and author of The Reporter’s Friend and The Television News Handbook. Vin is a veteran TV news manager, the first to take charge of the BBC’s entire foreign news-gathering operations when in 1996 he was appointed the BBC’s World News Editor. In 2004, he was awarded the Dart Centre’s ‘Distinguished Media Leadership Award’. He left the BBC in 2010 having been the first Director of the BBC College of Journalism and a member of the BBC’s Journalism Board.
James Beale Director Programme Delivery and Resource, Plan International, and award-winning Chief Executive of Ockenden International during its days as an operational charity. James is an authority on developing self-reliance programmes among displaced persons in some of the world’s most remote and hostile environments.
Dr. Kirsten McConnachie is Senior Lecturer in Law, School of Law, University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich and a socio-legal researcher who was Ockenden International’s first Joyce Pearce Junior Research Fellow (2012-15). She previously held positions at Warwick University (Assistant Professor, 2015-2018), the University of Edinburgh (Research Fellow, School of Law) and has degrees in law from Queen’s University Belfast (PhD), University of Nottingham (LLM in the Law of Armed Conflict) and the University of Glasgow (LLB in Scots Law). She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2005.
Solomon Mugera is Regional Editor BBC Africa where he manages editorial teams across BBC languages broadcasting to Africa across Radio, TV, Online and Mobile. The BBC broadcasts to Africa in English, French, Hausa, Kinyarwanda/Kirundi, Kiswahili and Somali. He was previously Editor BBC Africa.
