How you can help

Help deliver self-reliance and hope to refugees and displaced people

For more than 65 years Ockenden International has promoted self-reliance among refugees and displaced people, helping them to recover from war, famine and pestilence in the most remote places on earth.

Our simple objectives as a prize-giving organisation are to promote excellence in development programmes and to help NGOs and charities with best practice in self-reliance.

Even a few pounds or dollars can make a huge difference among displaced people. Ockenden International directs its funds towards “capacity building” – giving lives back to people through training schemes in crafts, micro-credit facilities and practical, transforming, projects such as cow banks – which can help build local economies in the developing world.

We will, as we have in the past, support efforts among displaced people in the most difficult and insecure places, long after the TV crews have departed and world headlines have evaporated.

We support only those projects where the vast majority of funding goes directly to the people in need.

If you would like to support Ockenden International’s work of 65 years please make a contribution through the Just Giving access link, available throughout the website.
